Healthy Digestion

The truth behind what we eat, and why is important to have healthy digestion, and what can we do to improve our digestion.

A lot of people including myself struggle with eating disorders in one form or another. There is a phrase I like to use one is to many and a thousand is never enough. At least when it comes to those addictive behaviors around food, such as sugar which I refer to as crack. Or the carbo craze.. Now I am a firm believer in celebration and treats but even at that there is a healthy way to go about that. There are treats that even nourish our bodies as I will go into further later on. If we looked at food as gas  or fuel to fuel our bodies rather than what makes us feel good. Food is not our enemy or for taste rather its for nutrients it is the component that gives us life energy and stamina.

What I realize is that most of us look at food backwards, food is the most one of the most important elements in our lives it gives us life. Just like Gas when we give our vehicle proper gas our vehicle runs optimally.  I see a lot of people running on empty and wondering why they feel tired or irritable and then they fill there bodies with chemicals or low nutrient food and wonder why they don't feel goo, and then they get sick and wonder why, then it is a domino effect they end up at the doctors office spending and obscene amount of money attempting to get well. which is only putting a band aid over the problem, for them to go back out to the world to continue the same behavior of living in insanity.
The other option is to get educated in health and nutrition. Invest in  healthy organic food and preparing home cooked foods that nourish ones body filled with vitamin, mineral, probiotic foods.  Investing  in your health has huge rewards, verse the time invested in attending doctors offices, and  time off of work when your are sick and not feeling well. There is also a finical investment in eating healthy but the pay off is evident in your health, for example if your  vehicle is  running on premium gas and you have done all the maintained required it is less likely to have a serious car problem. Your body is the same way.

So the truth behind what we eat, to make this simply, we are what we eat!

If you eat vitamin, mineral rich foods you will feel and run optimally.

Now I have sad new everything we where taught by the FDA is not true and even in the fitness magazines for the most part is not healthy.

So what is healthy.... Healthy is Lots of Raw dark GREEN LEAFY VEGATABLES, go to the farmers market and ask the farmers, dark red vegetables, sprouts.. There lots' of ways to prepare raw  or lightly cooked vegetable that taste great... learn how get educated.. fallow my blog and others whom teach you how to do it

If you live in the Sacramento area I will be doing every Saturday a farmer's market shopping information class starting next month on Jst at 10 am

I will also be hosting class at Wellness of Life : Raw food cooking, Raw food desserts and juicing and Back to Basic classes

Not all retables are the same so it's important to get educated, as soon as the vegetable is cut from the stem it starts to loose it nutrients so obtaining them from the farmer or fresher the better. Also raw is better, cooking them also decrease the nutrient content .. eating from the philosophy: eating to get nutrients rather that eating to taste is a totally different way to live.. in that your taste buds will change, but also you will start to enjoy new flavors and new tastes. The great thing is your don't have to give up the things you love the most you'll find new creative ways to make and enjoy the things you love the most that are nutrient rich for your body and when you eat then you'll know exactly what your eating and why. For example.  I dated a guy that loved dessert so I would make him all different types of healthy dessert. One of his favorite desserts was blackberry pie. I would make him a blackberry pie made with raw soaked and sprouted raw pecans and dates as a crust and I would make the  pie with banana's and blackberries and blend it with a s blade in my Cuisinart and I would chill it in the freezer and it was nutritious and diclinous. I was packed with antioxidants and vitamins.

I invested 5 hours in this pie and $20 and a lot of love. and I  would do it again. to me that is also loving his body, and I also know that his body benefited from that meal in more way that one.

Stay tuned tomorrow I will go over why it is important to have healthy digestion.....www.wendysebastian.comhttps://www.facebook.com/wsebby?ref=hl

Understanding Motility and Prokinetics in Gut Health

Understanding Motility and Prokinetics in Gut Health Introduction to Gut Motility Gut motility refers to the movement of contents through the digestive tract, primarily driven by a coordinated series of muscle contractions. These contractions, known as peristalsis, propel feces through the colon and eventually out of the body. Optimal gut motility is essential for nutrient absorption, digestion, and waste elimination. When motility is impaired, it can lead to conditions such as constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction. This article unpacks motility, explores the concept of prokinetics, examines natural and dietary sources that stimulate gut motility, and reviews the current literature on this critical topic in gastroenterology. What Are Prokinetics? Prokinetics are substances—whether pharmaceutical, herbal, or dietary—that enhance gastrointestinal motility by stimulating the smooth muscles of the gut. By improving motility, they help ...

Unlocking the Potential of Akkermansia: A Gut Health Revolution

Unlocking the Potential of Akkermansia: A Gut Health Revolution What Is the Microbiome? The human microbiome is a complex ecosystem of trillions of microorganisms living in and on our body, particularly within the gut. These microbes—comprising bacteria, fungi, viruses, and archaea—not only assist in digesting food but also play crucial roles in immunity, mood regulation, and overall health. Among these microscopic allies is Akkermansia muciniphila (often referred to as "Akkermansia"), a bacterium now gaining significant attention for its profound impact on gut health. What Is Akkermansia? Akkermansia muciniphila is a gram-negative, anaerobic bacterium discovered in 2004. It makes up roughly 3% of the total gut microbiota in healthy individuals and primarily resides in the mucus layer of the intestinal lining. Its unique trait lies in its ability to break down mucin—a key protein in the gut's mucus layer—making it essential for maintaining gut barrier function and pro...
